1. Introduction

Welcome to ShillongPrediction (“we”, “our”, “us”, or the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and disclose information when you use the ShillongPrediction mobile application and shillongprediction.com.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect:

• Mobile phone number used for OTP authentication, user ID, and authentication information.
• Display name, profile photo, bio, and other profile details you provide.
• Predictions, guesses, posts, comments, reactions, discussions, reports, and support messages.
• Images, files, or other media that you voluntarily upload.
• Points, levels, badges, streaks, achievements, and activity history.
• Device model, operating system, app version, diagnostic information, crash reports, and usage data.

The final policy must be updated if the released app collects additional information, including location, contacts, camera, microphone, or other permissions.

3. How We Use Information

• Create and manage user accounts.
• Provide predictions, community discussions, profiles, rewards, streaks, badges, and related features.
• Display and moderate user-generated content.
• Send service notifications and account updates.
• Prevent abuse, improve security, troubleshoot errors, and improve the App.
• Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Services and Advertising

The App may use third-party providers for hosting, authentication, storage, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, and advertising. List only providers actually used in the released app:

• Backend/authentication: Node.js API / Firebase Authentication
• Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
• Advertising: Google AdMob (if enabled)
• Analytics/crash reporting: Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics
• Storage/CDN: Server Cloud Storage & Uploads CDN

These providers may process information under their own privacy policies. We do not sell personal information.

5. Sharing of Information

We may share information with service providers needed to operate the App, when you publicly post content, when legally required, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or during a business transfer where permitted by law.

6. Public Community Content

Information you voluntarily publish in public areas, such as your display name, profile image, posts, predictions, comments, and reactions, may be visible to other users. Do not publish private, confidential, financial, or sensitive information.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information. Data transmitted between the App and our servers should use HTTPS/TLS where supported. No transmission or storage method is completely secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, maintain security, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

• Account information: Retained while your account remains active or as required by law.
• User-generated content: Retained until deleted by the user or upon account deletion.
• Support and security logs: Retained for up to 90 days for system diagnostic & security auditing.

9. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data through the in-app account settings or by contacting us.

Requests will be processed within 30 days, subject to legally required retention.

10. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information in violation of applicable law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date will be changed when updates are made.
